Fun Match Rules (FAQ)
Q: What is an official fun match?
A: An offical fun match is very similar to the Ducati and GamesUnited league matches. But different to those league matches, in the fun league you are not a permanent member of a team. So instead of the team rating, this league tracks the individual rating of each player. Your individual rating depends on how many matches you have won and how strong your team members and opponents for those matches were.
Q: When do i play an official fun match?
A: If you want to play an official match, but you don't find any team members, you can choose to play an offical fun match. If however there are enough members for an offical ducati or gamesunited league match I encourage you to play an offical league match.
Q: What server will the battles be on? Which settings will be used?
A: Fun matches are played on the match servers. There are basically three different match types:

Q: How to declare an official match.
A: Be clear before the match countdown starts, that the match is an offical fun match.
Q: How do replays work?
A: Use the according replay server of the match server you played on, to find your replay. GU Replay servers can be always be found on Port 5159 of the according server. (Except dub.guleague.org:59996) Unfortunately, due to lack of activity in the ducati and pillbox league, the match servers do not have replay servers set up. (Except bzpro:59997, ducati)
You can look up your replay file on the matchlist-sites. See links section!
Q: When does a battle start? When does it end?
A: Matches have a fixed duration of 30 minutes. The battle starts as soon as both teams are ready. When both teams have indicated that they are ready, the designated starter issues the /countdown command. You can have a referee watching the battle, but this is not required. After the match is over, the team with the higher score is the winner. If both teams have the same score, it is a draw.
Q: I don't have enough teammates to play a match. Can another player play for my team if the other team agrees?
A: Sure.
Q: How many players are needed to play a fun match?
A: Each team needs at least two players, one player of each team needs to be registered on this site. If you have an odd number of players around for the fun match, search on the public servers like ducati.bzflag.org, dub.bzflag.org or bzflag0.gamesunited.com for an additional player.
Q: Are substitutions allowed during a match?
A: Yes, substitutions are allowed. Just include all player names in the match report, the team strength is calculated accordingly.
Q: How is an official fun match rated?
A: Depending if you won, tied or lost a match, your score rating is updated accordingly. The amount of points you gain or lose depends on the team strength of your team and the team you matched. The formula used is the same formula as used for the ducati and gamesunited league and reffered to as a simplified ELO rating.
Q: How is the strength of a team in an official fun match calculated?
A: The teams strength is the mean value of all registerd players on a team.
